So much of life is this consistent current of fill and pour — of time, resources, energy, friendships. This stream, sometimes flood, sometimes torrent, persists the years, working to mold our values, schedules, and personalities into our own as individuals. Yōnggi, for me, captures the discipline of stepping backward, as appropriate, and admiring the vessel and its process. Each of the pieces created are hand-made, with its own nicks and imperfections that work to accentuate and allude to the one-of-a-kind story we, as vessels, all embody.

All of Yōnggi is hand-made by Gibbeum in Portland, OR. When she is not throwing on her wheel, Gibbeum is working in higher education, homesteading, and navigating parenthood.
